... On the jazz front, one of the highlights was a brief visit by the University of Karlsruhe Big Band from Germany. The University of Natals's Centre for Jazz and Popular Music was packed for their concert, which started off slightly stiffly, but relaxed into a fine big band session of standards. Their level of technical skill and co-operation within a tightly-knit structure were very impressive
